Extrudering
The method is used in producing items in large scale. In most cases the items produced are of the same cross-sectional area. The stock material is usually heated and passed through a die.
To make it straight, the extrusion is stretched. To get the desired crystal structure, the extruded material is treated with heat at room temperature. The most common materials used here are: metall, ceramic, mat, and plastic.
Compression
The raw materials that are usually used are: fiberglass, thermoplastics, and thermosetting resins. Just like in the other processes the raw material is heated and poured into the heated mold cavity.
Once full, the cavity is closed and pressure is applied on it in order for the heated material to form shape. This process not only aids in molding large and intricate objects, but it’s also inexpensive.
